Road is closed after pipe bursts

One motorist said he was stuck in a traffic jam from Penicuik heading towards Edinburgh for two hours from 0800 GMT

A burst water main has caused flooding on the A702 at Damhead in Midlothian.

The road is now closed between Hillend and Silverburn and is likely to be closed until Wednesday while the water main is repaired.

Old Pentland Road and the road by the A702 are expected to be opened by Tuesday evening, after they are cleared of flooding and debris.

Diversions are in place, however, motorists are to allow extra time for their journeys and could face delays.

One motorist who wished to remain anonymous said he was stuck in a traffic jam from Penicuik heading towards Edinburgh for two hours from 0800 GMT.
